Special Thank You

There are several people who have helped me grow and develop, both as a person and as a professional over the last two years as a graduate student. I would not be the person I am today without their support and guidance, and I am happy to dedicate this page to them.

Forever Grateful,
Meagan

Carl Oliveri | Assistant Dean of Students, MCPHS University

Carl and I instantly connected when I was interviewing for an assistantship during Northeastern's visiting days. When I interviewed to be a graduate assistant in the Center for Campus Life, I knew that it was a perfect match for me, and I for it. Since starting in August 2015, Carl has pushed me to accomplish more than I thought possible as a GA. Carl has grown from a supervisor, to a mentor, to a friend. His constant support and encouragement has meant the world to me, and his undying love for sports has meant event more. If I had the chance to work for Carl again in the future, it would be an honor and a privilege.

(I also want to extend Carl a standing invitation to the Big House)

Brittany Vytal | Assistant Director of Campus Life, MCPHS University

Brittany faced many of the challenges and uncertainties I experienced, and that has been a consistent comfort over the past two years. Brittany and I have shared a lot: a graduate program, an assistantship in the same functional area, and we worked at the same institution. Many times, Brittany was the first person I would turn to when I thought I couldn't overcome a challenge, and provided me the encouragement I needed to succeed.

I especially want to thank Brittany for the "every-days" (driving me to work, coffee runs, and being my lunch buddy). You helped me be my best self every day, and I cannot thank you enough for that.

Becca Berkey | Director of the Service-Learning Program, Northeastern University

Lisa Roe | Assistant Director of the Service-Learning Program, Northeastern University

Kristen Dvorsky | Senior Associate Director of Campus Life, MCPHS University

Kristen was my first supervisor as a graduate assistant in Campus Life. She introduced me to everything I needed to be successful in student activities, and helped me think about challenges in new ways. She is one of the strongest women I know, and the ONLY Mariah Carey fan I've ever met. She has helped me continuously improve both personally and professionally. I want to thank Kristen for being one of the only professionals I know who believes in a healthy work/life balance, and for pushing me to strive for perfection in my work as a student affairs professional.

Becca is one of the most driven women I have ever met - not just in student affairs but in all walks of life. Watching her run a program at a major university and serve as co-director of the Community Service Center has helped me realize that hard work results in endless potential. She has big dreams for herself, and consistently encouraged me to do the same. Thank you for all of the wisdom and guidance you have given me over the past year, and for being your authentic self with no apologies. Special thanks for introducing me to all of the wonderful people you know (at Northeastern and across the country), and I'm sure we will see each other often no matter where we call home.

I want to thank Lisa for being not just a supervisor, but a friend. Lisa is one of the most kind and trustworthy people I have had the fortune of meeting on this journey, and equally as strong and hardworking. Lisa didn't treat me like a graduate student, but like a peer in the field, and I am grateful to have had that relationship with her during my time at Service-Learning. There were a lot of skills I wanted to work on when I started work at Northeastern, and Lisa made sure that I gained experience with every single one of them. I would like to especially thank Lisa for our 1:1's, which kept me focused on the finish line, and for making me feel like a full-time staff member when I was only working 10 hours/week. I can't wait to see where the future take us both!
